The University of Minnesota Foundation’s Annual Giving team has an opening for an Associate Director of Database Marketing. This position provides leadership in the area of data management and analysis and is responsible for utilizing Foundation data in order to advance the University’s alumni and annual giving strategies. The Associate Director works with the Annual Giving team to understand marketing information needs and supports marketing programs by providing analysis of alumni and donor data, developing direct mail testing plans and strategies, performing data segmentation and audience profiling, and compiling cohesive reports used for managing and improving Annual Giving fundraising activities. The Associate Director leads the Database Marketing department including providing work direction, project and team leadership, selection, training and performance management. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field; 5+ years of relevant marketing database experience including managing a Marketing Customer Information File (MCIF) and/or using marketing data to plan and implement programs; minimum two years supervisory experience; demonstrated experience working with marketing software (such as Microsoft CRM or Entiera) to plan, execute and monitor campaigns; knowledge of data extract and reporting tools and strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and analyze alternative solutions and make recommendations.
