Ad 2 Events

Ad2 runs September-May, on the third Thursday of each month. All events consist of a social hour (commonly known as the "happy hour") followed by a speaker presentation. At each event, speakers present topics related to current trends and issues within the advertising, marketing, PR and media communities, which impact or affect our member's careers.

The Panelists:

Paul Swiatek is a copywriter at Kruskopf Coontz and has also worked at Saatchi&Saatchi LA and Pocket Hercules. He’s done work for Toyota, 3M, Rapala, ESPN, Grain Belt Beer, Best Buy, Fuji Ya and a bunch of other brands. He doesn’t drink soda, but enjoys the citrusy goodness of Squirt. Just so you know.

Dan Ruppert-Kan is a Copywriter and Creative Consultant at DRK Creative, an agency he founded three years ago. Prior to that, he was the Creative Director at Russell Herder and a Sr. Copywriter at Carmichael Lynch for 7+ years. He has created effective marketing campaigns for American Standard, Benjamin Moore Paints, Discovery Channel, Formica, Harley-Davidson, HCMC, Lutsen Mountains, Porsche, Schwan’s Food Service and Toro. He is frequently spotted near Sex World only because his office is directly across the alleyway.

Andy Thieman writes in a cubicle high above the City Center atrium within Target’s Headquarters, in an agency called inHouse, which is abbreviated, “.iH.” He did not name the agency, but thinks it’s clever that backwards, “.iH” is “Hi.” Before Target, he wrote at Martin|Williams. Before that, Colle+McVoy. And before that, Best Buy Advertising … which doesn’t really exist anymore. He does not wear khaki pants and a red shirt to work. Ever.

Students: $5 with pre-registration, $10 at the door
Nonmembers: $15 with pre-registration, $20 at the door

Cancellation/Refund/No-Show Policy: Cancellations received by the Ad Fed office at least 48 hours prior to the event are eligible for a refund of the registration fee. No refunds will be provided for cancellations received fewer than 48 hours prior to the event. No-shows will be billed for any unpaid registration fees.
